Tim Did Something He Said He'd Never Do!

Published over 3 years agoΒ β€’Β 1 min read

Hello Reader,

He promised he wouldn't

Tim swore he wouldn't be on camera--but look who is going to be right there on screen the whole time! Robin was a trooper trying to film alone but being a lone talking head is hard, especially with her chronic laryngitis. The worst part was trying to keep up the energy level all alone while looking at a camera. After a few tearful attempts, Tim just couldn't leave Robin suffering through it alone.

It turns out that Tim does just fine! He did theater in high school so it shouldn't be that hard to ACT like a parent teaching parenting!

We spent several days trying to get the set up just right. Robin looks completely washed out with lights--and disappears without them. We finally figured out to use Charlie's ballet shirts as diffusers and to decrease the intensity.

Meanwhile the kids have kept busy. We set up the slackline and started doing our fall planting of sunflowers, kale, and some flowering bushes. Eleanor loved using a drill to dig through the clay soil and mix in compost before planting bushes around the meditation garden.

This week on the blog we're starting a series about medication. This week it's all about How Doctor's Think about Medication. Next week we'll have a handy printable for our patrons on Patreon to keep an accurate record when filling pill minders or attending appointments.

We hope you're enjoying the end of summer!

Hello Reader, Just a quick reminder that today is the first day of the Virtual Homeschool Summit and we're participating! It was such fun meeting Beth...and you'll finally get to meet Hannah, who was part of the interview, too. We talk about science, books, and so much more! Starts Today! It's a friendly, informal conversation jam packed with science info for families. We're only one of over 20 great interviews with a variety of educators. (We think you'll enjoy it even if you don't...

Hello Reader, It's summer in the northern hemisphere and we're enjoying the different pace. Hannah has been away for several weeks visiting family and spends most of her summer performing as a mermaid...therefore, many of you are hearing directly from Dr. Robin when you write in. We appreciate your patience with her lower level tech skills. :-) But it's also been a lot of fun for her to get to handle all the questions and requests herself! Do you need help planning your fall science...
